In case you missed the enormous banner, my name is Nick Thornsby. I graduated from the University of Manchester in June 2010 with a degree in ancient history (where I wrote my dissertation on classical Athenian banking). I then spent a year studying for the Graduate Diploma in Law (what’s known by normal people as a law conversion course) at the College of Law in Manchester. I am now completing the Bar Professional Training Course at the College of Law in London, which is a pre-requisite to being called to the Bar of England and Wales.
I consider myself a liberal, and as such I’ve been a member of the Liberal Democrats since 2007. I have a lot of time for, among others, Nick Clegg, David Laws, Chris Huhne and Steve Webb.
I supported the formation of the coalition in May 2010, and continue to support it now. I think David Cameron is largely proving himself an effective prime minister (even if he does have the odd barmy idea), and I think the coalition is (most of the time) a good advert for the plurastic, co-operative politics that I support.
I don’t like Ed Balls.
I also contribute on a regular-ish basis to Liberal Democrat Voice and have also written for the Guardian and the New Statesman.
If you want to get in touch you can do so by various means, which you can see HERE.
